Beauty Redefined

I am currently in love with the non-profit project out of Utah, USA called Beauty Redefined. They’re following a mission very close to my own and with the support of a lot of great people, they’ve just put up billboards around their state that challenge beauty and its impact on women. It tells people that “There’s more to be than eye candy” and “You are capable of much more than being looked at” and “If beauty hurts, you’re doing it wrong.” It’s a really positive message and it’s getting a decent amount of local press. If you want to learn more, here’s their press release on their fantastic website. I’m very excited to see where this campaign goes in the future!

  1. I think the most beautiful a woman can be is staying the way she was made. To me, make-up, girdles and push up bras cover and mask the true beauty of a woman.

    • I think there’s a lot of fun to be had with the various items of clothing and make up out there – you can be creative, expressive, daring, etc with these things – but the pressure to see them as part of the beauty package is potentially very negative. I don’t want to feel like I have to wear concealer to feel like a beautiful woman. I don’t want a specific shape or bra size to determine my social value. For me, beauty is about something beyond the scope of what you can purchase.
